The ward-based PACES teaching is designed to provide an intensive teaching programme on the run up to the PACES examination. The programme is open to all SHOs, though priority will be given to those planning to take the next available PACES exam. Groups will be restricted to 6-7 individuals maximum. The Foundation Programme is a two-year general training programme which forms the bridge between medical school and specialist/general practice training.
The multi-professional ALERT course was developed in response to awareness that early recognition and treatment of the deteriorating patient may prevent in hospital deaths.
